Licensing Status
SeoulFM is actively pursuing comprehensive music licensing coverage. We are currently engaged with the following collecting societies and rights organizations:
Korea Music Copyright Association — mechanical and public performance rights for Korean musical compositions and lyrics.
Licensing through CISAC member societies for reciprocal global coverage of public performance rights for musical compositions.
We are evaluating additional licensing relationships with international performing rights organizations including but not limited to SoundExchange, JASRAC, and other relevant bodies to ensure comprehensive global coverage.
SeoulFM is transparent about our licensing status. We are actively working toward full compliance and welcome dialogue with any rights holder or collecting society regarding our licensing obligations.
Service Classification
SeoulFM operates as a non-interactive internet radio service. This classification is relevant to our licensing obligations and means:
- •Listeners cannot select specific songs to play on demand
- •Song requests are suggestions that enter a managed queue and are played at the station's editorial discretion
- •Programming includes curated rotation alongside listener requests
- •No skip, rewind, or replay functionality is provided
- •No downloads or offline access to recordings
This classification is consistent with the statutory and compulsory licensing frameworks applicable to non-interactive webcasters under relevant jurisdictions.
